Every week we do a live Facebook video bringing you the latest news from the Hill and online marketing tips. Recently we spoke about Worksafe BC and its anti-bullying training session.
A few months ago we had our Worksafe BC Bullying and Harassment training session. We brought in Ingrid Vaughan, who is an HR specialist. The session took an hour and a half, and we did this because since 2013 it has been a legal requirement in British Columbia that businesses have to conduct these sessions, to deal with harassment and bullying.
You are invited to come to our Google Partners Connect event on B2B Marketing Strategies
What is This?
A Google Event is when Radar Hill hosts a free live webinar focused on a specific area or industry of online marketing. The live stream lasts about one hour, with plenty of time afterwards for questions and answers.
This event is focused on B2B online marketing. Decision-makers are 75% of the way through their purchase process before even reaching out to a brand, and when they are searching for a business to hire, 68% of the research is digitally driven. There is an average of 12 searches online before engaging with a brand. This means it is vital to be online, ready for prospective clients to find you.
Another thing to note is that using multi-screen is the default for B2B researches, but mobile searches are increasing. Having your ads and website adapted to fit both these mediums will maximize its impact. For example, 20% of searches are now done via voice search, and most Google Assistant requests are asked in natural speech. Having content that matches these search styles ensures that your digital presence is as effective as possible.
B2B marketing is hard. Get your online presence to the right person, at the right time. In this digital era, relying purely on word-of-mouth is not enough. Come to this Google workshop about B2B marketing strategies, and we will help you to implement effective methods.
Last year, digitally savvy small businesses were almost 3x more likely to increase calls, leads, and sales inquiries. Not only that, but the top 20% most digitally advanced businesses earned 2x as much revenue per employee.

Caitlin at 7, in their first office
I, Caitlin O’Hara, started working at Radar Hill officially in May 2016. I had of course been around it nearly my entire life as it began when I was 7 years old. In 2001 Dan Lundgren, Roger Whitson, and my dad Shawn O’Hara merged their respective 2 companies together to create Radar Hill Technology Inc., a business that would focus on making custom websites in Victoria. Previous to this my dad had been working from home in the downstairs office, the stereotype of the emerging IT guy. However, not being content with fulfilling this stereotype of basement-dwelling web people, they decided to rent out a proper office.

The details of what it is and how to be compliant are discussed here, and why it is a good thing is explained here. In this article, the effect it has on Canada and email marketing will be explored. As before, this is not meant to be legal advice, and if you are concerned about being compliant, seek professional council! This is an introduction, as many people in Canada have not heard of GDPR before.
