Radar Hill received the 2009 Co-op Employer of the Year Award at Camosun College’s School of Trades & Technology Awards Ceremony held on Friday May 14. Says Shawn O’Hara, who accepted the award on behalf of Radar Hill, “We are very pleased to accept this award. We owe it to Camosun’s Co-op program and the excellent caliber of their students.”
To win the award, a Co-op Employer is first nominated by a Co-op student, then approved by the department. Kendra Savich nominated Radar Hill. At the Awards Ceremony we learned from Nan Judd, Employment Facilitator, Engineering Technologies, and Co-operative Education Director Gloria Darroch that Kendra is a Co-op success story. Kendra joined Radar Hill as a Co-op student for the Summer 2009 work term. Once she returned to Camosun in September, we offered her a flexible work schedule, managing around classes, exams and project deadlines. After graduation she became a permanent, full-time staff member with Radar Hill, in the PHP Programming department. We are very pleased to have Kendra with us.
